This means that conducting a screening test (preliminary exam) in the recruitment exam is entirely at the commission's discretion; if the number of applicants is low or the commission deems it appropriate, it may call eligible candidates directly for the next round, i.e., subject knowledge test and interview, without the screening test.

HPSC has not provided important information such as the exam syllabus, pattern, dates, and negative marking (marks deducted for incorrect answers) in this advertisement. These details will be revealed when the department releases a separate exam notice, so candidates are advised to consult only that official notice for accurate information.
