Qualification by Post

Fireman Matriculation or equivalent. The work calls for practical familiarity with extinguishers, hoses, pumps, fire appliances and basic first-aid equipment, along with elementary fire-fighting and fire-service drill knowledge.
Leading Fireman Matriculation or equivalent with practical fire-service knowledge. The candidate should also be able to guide a fire crew and handle a shift independently.
Fire Engine Driver Matriculation or equivalent, trade proficiency, a valid driving licence and at least three years of heavy-vehicle driving experience. A recognised fireman-course certificate is desirable.
Librarian Matriculation or equivalent together with proficiency in the relevant trade.

Selection Process
