Status checked on 5 September 2026: The last date to apply for this SBI recruitment (Advt. CRPD/CR/SPLDRIVE/2026-27/16) has passed and no new forms are being filled now. The pre-examination training material has now been uploaded on the SBI website for those who have applied. Preliminary Exam: It is expected to be held in September 2026. Main Exam: It may be held in October or November 2026, but it is not confirmed yet.
Separate backlog drive: This recruitment is different from the regular SBI Clerk recruitments. This time, instead of releasing any new seats, SBI has launched this special recruitment to fill only those old vacant seats (Backlog Vacancies). All these 1,538 seats are only for SC (Scheduled Caste), ST (Scheduled Tribe) and OBC-NCL (Other Backward Class-Non Creamy Layer) candidates. People from General or EWS category cannot apply. In the previous recruitments, the reserved category seats were left vacant due to some reason (like non-availability of eligible candidates).

Category check: If you are a PwBD or Ex-Serviceman, you must apply under your original category (such as OBC, SC, or ST—whichever is available for this recruitment). You will only be eligible for reservation if you meet the eligibility criteria for that category. There is no quota for General, EWS, or PwBD/Ex-Servicemen separately. Therefore, if you fall under this category (General, EWS, or PwBD/Ex-Servicemen separately), you do not need to apply.
- Category: Only SC, ST and OBC-NCL backlog vacancies are part of this drive. OBC applicants need to satisfy the non-creamy-layer certificate rule.
- Graduation: A recognised graduation degree, or an accepted equivalent qualification, is the basic academic requirement.
- Qualification date: The qualifying result must be available by 31 December 2026. The same cut-off applies to an Integrated Dual Degree.
- Final-year students: A final-year or final-semester student could register provisionally, but proof of passing by the cut-off date is needed if selected.
- State/UT choice: The form was limited to one State/UT under this project, so the vacancy and local-language choice had to match that recruitment unit.
- Local language: Applicants need working ability in the opted local language. A Class 10 or 12 record showing that language can remove the separate language-test requirement.

The basic salary of an SBI Clerk ranges from ₹24,050 to ₹64,480. However, if you are a graduate, you start with a basic salary of ₹26,730. This includes two advance increments, and in metro cities like Mumbai, you get approximately ₹46,000. This amount depends on the city of posting and allowances. Your final salary may change slightly after taxes and PF are deducted.
- Merit and posting: Selection is worked out State/UT-wise and category-wise, and the posting is tied to the State/UT chosen in the application.
- Transfer: Inter-state or inter-circle transfer is not part of this recruitment. Only the limited intra-state circle movement mentioned by SBI can apply.
- Probation: A new Junior Associate starts with at least six months of probation. The prescribed e-learning and satisfactory performance are part of confirmation.
The SBI Clerk recruitment exam process consists of a Prelims exam. Passing it is mandatory, but its marks are not counted in the final result. After that, the Mains exam is the most important exam. Whether you get a job or not depends entirely on your Mains marks. If your 10th or 12th grade marksheet doesn't include the local language as a subject, you will have to take a short language test. One-quarter (0.25) of your marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. That is, if you get four questions wrong, you'll lose one correct mark. Along with the final result, SBI also releases a waiting list. This list includes candidates equal to half (50%) of the total vacancies. The list is valid for one year. If someone leaves the job or doesn't join, those on this list receive a chance.

Local Language Test: This test will contain both verbal and non-verbal questions. The bank will determine the required passing score. If you fail, you will not be accepted. If you have worked as an apprentice (trainee) at SBI and fulfilled all the conditions, you will receive 5 bonus marks on your Main Exam score.
- Recent photograph and signature in the upload format used by the application portal.
- Left-thumb impression and the handwritten declaration file.
- Graduation records and other academic proof needed for the 31 December 2026 eligibility date.
- Class 10/12 record if it is being used to show study of the opted local language.
- The relevant SC/ST or OBC-NCL certificate, plus PwBD, Ex-Servicemen or SBI apprentice proof where a concession is being claimed.

- 2 Match your State/UT and backlog category with the vacancy table before opening the registration link.
- 3 Register with an active mobile number and email, then enter personal, category and qualification details from your records.
- 4 Upload the photograph, signature, thumb impression and handwritten declaration in the required format.
- 5 Pay ₹750 only where the OBC fee applies; the notified SC/ST/PwBD/XS/DXS fee is Nil.
- 6 Review the form before final submission and keep the submitted application/e-receipt for your records. The registration window closed on 27 August 2026.
