🎓 Eligibility – Category A
  • ✓
Postgraduate qualification: Candidates may have a postgraduate degree in Hospitality or Tourism, or an MBA, from a recognised university or institute.
  • ✓
Professional qualification: Along with it, a full-time degree or three-year diploma in an approved hotel, hospitality or culinary discipline is needed. The minimum score is 55% in aggregate or an equivalent grade.
  • ✓
NHTET condition: NHTET conducted by NCHMCT is required. Candidates covered by the stated Hospitality-related Ph.D. exemption need not rely on NHTET.
  • ✓
Desirable profile: Preference may be given for a relevant Ph.D. and at least six months of experience in a hotel rated three-star or above.
🎓 Eligibility – Category B
The second option is for candidates who have a full-time graduate degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Hotel Administration, or Culinary Arts (Cooking) with at least 55% marks in graduation, at least two years of work experience in the hotel or hospitality sector, and a required score in the NHTET exam.
ℹ️ Common Eligibility & Category Clauses
  • ✓
Full-time contractual teaching in Hospitality at undergraduate level or higher can be counted as relevant experience.
  • ✓
A recognised Ph.D. in a Hospitality-related subject, earned after the prescribed qualification, removes the NHTET requirement.
  • ✓
Reservation note: The notice gives only the overall count of three posts; it does not divide them into SC, ST, OBC, EWS and General categories. Anyone claiming age relaxation should attach the appropriate category proof.
⚙️ Selection Process
Your selection will be based on a skill test determined by NCHMCT, and if you have an NHTET score, those scores will also be considered. The notice does not yet provide the test date or arrival time (schedule). PIHMCT will inform you about these details separately at a later date. Therefore, please check the PIHMCT website for official notifications.
📂 Documents to Attach
  • ✓
The PIHMCT form, completed in the prescribed format.
  • ✓
Attested copies of marksheets and qualification certificates.
  • ✓
Experience certificates that clearly show the period and nature of work, if experience is part of your eligibility.
  • ✓
NHTET marks or pass certificate, unless you are using the permitted Ph.D. exemption.
  • ✓
SC, ST, OBC or EWS proof when seeking a category-based benefit.
  • ✓
    One recent passport-size colour photograph.

  • 4
Add supporting proof: Attach the certificates that establish your qualification, experience, NHTET status and category claim.

⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid
  • ✓
Claim the NHTET exemption only if your Ph.D. meets the condition given in the notice.
  • ✓
Do not assume a category-wise seat count; PIHMCT has announced only the combined total.
  • ✓
Do not wait until the closing date to post the form. PIHMCT considers the date on which the application is received.
