PSSSB Group D Eligibility 2026
Educational qualification, Punjabi language and reservation requirements
- Education: Class 10/Matric is the standard qualification, with Punjabi included as a subject unless a notified exemption applies.
- Specified exemptions: The service-rule exceptions mentioned for certain blind, riot/terrorism-affected and Sweeper appointments apply only in the situations covered by the recruitment rules.
- Punjabi test: Part-A is a Matric-level Punjabi qualifying paper. A candidate needs at least 50% in this part to stay in the merit process.
- Punjab reservation: Reserved-category benefit is linked to Punjab residence. The residence certificate shown at counselling must satisfy the validity condition stated for this recruitment.

PSSSB Group D Salary 2026
Group D jobs have a starting basic pay of ₹18,000, which can increase with time and promotions to a maximum of ₹56,900. However, when you join this position, your total salary and other government allowances (such as dearness allowance or house rent) will be determined solely by the Punjab government's rules in effect at the time.
PSSSB Group D Selection Process 2026
After passing the written exam, the recruitment process begins with counseling and document verification.
