Current update: The Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) is recruiting for 5,989 Nursing Officer posts. The form filling process (which was extended several times) has now completely closed. OSSSC has released a new notice regarding the exam dates. The exam will be held on September 22 and September 23, 2026 in CBRE (Computer Based Recruitment Examination) mode over two days and in a total of 5 shifts (shifts), meaning the exam will be conducted online on the computer, not on pen and paper. Your admission letter (admit card) to appear for the exam will be released online on the department's website a few days before the exam begins. You will have to download it yourself. Most importantly, if needed, the government will have the right to deploy you as a Community Health Officer (CHO).

💵 Pay & District Cadre Position
This government job recruitment is for all 30 districts of Odisha, filling a total of 5,989 vacancies. Selected candidates will be placed on a pay scale (Pay Matrix Level-8) of ₹29,200 to ₹92,300. Your starting basic salary will be ₹29,200, which can increase to ₹92,300 with time and promotion. In addition, government allowances will be provided separately. Postings will be made in all 30 districts of Odisha. In total, approximately 6,000 (5,989) vacancies are available. The job terms clearly state that if the authorities deem it necessary, they may also assign you the responsibility or duties of a Community Health Officer (CHO).
