Core academic and Linux requirements for this NSM role

✓Academic base: A BE/B.Tech or equivalent qualification is accepted in CSE, ECE, EEE or IT.

✓Linux background: The role calls for 2–4 years of practical system-administration experience on Linux.

✓Shell work: Bash scripting is part of the core technical requirement.

✓Command-line use: Applicants should be comfortable with Linux tools used for routine checks, troubleshooting and maintenance.

✓Exposure to schedulers such as Slurm or PBS, along with xCAT and Lmod/Environment Modules.

✓Open and maintain user accounts on PARAM Yukti and Malaigae, including home-directory setup.

✓Handle password-related administration across login and compute nodes.

✓Help users with Slurm jobs, failed runs, node status and basic GPU or resource issues.

✓Watch compute nodes, InfiniBand links and Lustre/NFS mounts for routine health problems.

✓Support software modules, Lmod files, node restarts, IPMI checks and first-level physical connectivity checks under the HPC Facility Manager.

✓Keep operating records and simple procedures so recurring support work is easier to track and hand over.
