Recognised technical routes, medical requirement and circle preference
- ✓Nationality: the applicant had to be an Indian citizen and meet the other eligibility conditions by the relevant cut-off date.
- ✓Engineering qualification: recognised B.E./B.Tech or equivalent study in the notified telecom, electronics, radio, computer, electrical, information-technology or instrumentation streams was one accepted route.
- ✓Postgraduate qualification: the recruitment also accepts the listed postgraduate technical routes, including M.Sc. Electronics, M.Sc. Computer Science and eligible M.Tech programmes.
- ✓Completion date: the qualifying course had to be completed by the application deadline; merely studying in the programme at that point was not enough.

BSNL JTO Pay, Training & Service Bond
Appointment pay scale, training period and service commitment
For Junior Telecom Officers (JTO), the BSNL IDA E-1 pay scale is fixed at ₹16,400–40,500. Newly recruited personnel are also required to execute a ₹6 lakh bond covering 5 years of service, mandatory training, and a 2 year probation period. Allowances and deductions are subject to company regulations in force at the time of appointment.

The CBT score is the first step in determining merit. Shortlisted candidates will also need to pass BSNL's document verification and medical standards.
