📋 BPSC TRE 4.0 Post-Wise Category Distribution
How to read these tables:In Bihar Government jobs, EBC (Extremely Backward Class / Atyant Pichhda Varg) and BC (Backward Class / Pichhda Varg) are two different categories, and both get separate reservation. Seats for women of backward class (BC Women) are shown separately. If in any notification both the current vacant seats (Current Vacancies) and old remaining seats (Backlog Vacancies) are given together, then the combined figure is written here below by adding both. The column of Total is the actual number of that post. There are some reservations (such as for the disabled, grandchildren of freedom fighters, or horizontal reservation for women) that are already included in the main categories (General, EBC, BC). They have not been added separately to the 'Total', otherwise the seat count would be wrong.

💵 BPSC School Teacher Salary & Starting Basic Pay
The starting basic salary for primary, middle, secondary, and higher secondary teachers is ₹25,000, ₹28,000, ₹31,000, and ₹32,000 respectively. This is only a major part of the salary, not the entire salary. As per Bihar government rules, dearness allowance (DA), house rent allowance (HRA), and other allowances will be added to it, increasing the salary. Some money will also be deducted from it as per government rules (such as Provident Fund/PF or tax), which will reduce the salary. Your in-hand salary will be decided only after adding and deducting these allowances. This ₹25,000 or ₹32,000 is not the final amount.
📍 BPSC TRE 4.0 Posting, Reservation & Service Notes
✓
Posting: Appointment will be within Bihar's Education Department. The exact cadre or place of posting depends on the allotment rules used at the time of selection.
✓
Reservation: Enter the same category details in OTR, the application and supporting certificates. A mismatch can create trouble during verification.
✓
Vacancy changes: The count may be revised before applications begin. Use the revised advertisement, once released, for the final level-wise and category-wise figures.
⚙️ BPSC TRE 4.0 Selection Process
First of all you will have to give Preliminary Exam (Pre). Those who will pass Pre will be called for Main Exam. Final merit list will be prepared by adding Main Exam marks and Service Weightage (if there are extra marks for old experience). Document Verification (DV) will be done directly after this. There will be no interview in this. Important Note:- Since now the method of applying is changing (being revised), so when the next new advertisement (notification) comes, check this section again carefully to see whether the method of selection is the same or has changed.

Negative Marking:Negative marking applies according to the August 18 scheme. A wrong answer will result in a deduction of 1/3rd (0.33) marks from the correct answer's score. Please review the revised instructions thoroughly before the exam begins, particularly the new rule for options A through E (five options). Note that for certain exams, selecting option 'E' is mandatory if you are unsure of the answer, so make sure you understand this rule in advance.
📚 BPSC TRE 4.0 Main Examination Pattern
The main paper that has been published contains 150 objective questions carrying 150 marks. Primary teacher candidates receive 30 qualifying language questions and 120 general studies questions. For classes 6 to 12, the breakdown is 30 language, 40 general studies, and 80 questions from the chosen subject. In this system, language is only qualifying; the remaining non-language portion counts for merit. Ensure this structure is followed in the revised advertisement.
🗣️ STET 2026 Appearing Candidates – Important TRE 4.0 Update
The earlier notice provided the option for some candidates taking the STET-2026 to submit a self-declaration. This declaration alone does not fulfill STET eligibility. Anyone relying on it should first check whether it is included in the revised advertisement and also check at what stage the STET requirement must be met.
⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid in BPSC TRE 4.0 Application
✓
Using the old dates: The 1 September opening did not go ahead. Do not plan payment or submission around the dates printed in the first advertisement.
✓
Treating 21 September as final: BPSC has described it as a probable start. Wait for the revised schedule before calling it a confirmed date.
✓
Choosing a level only by vacancy count: Your degree subject, training course and TET/STET paper must fit that teaching level.
✓
Depending only on the STET declaration: Appearing status does not remove the need to meet the final STET condition.
✓
Skipping the revised exam rules: The earlier scheme includes negative marking, but candidates should use the revised advertisement and admit-card instructions for the final rule.
📂 Documents to Keep Ready for BPSC TRE 4.0 Form
✓
Keep the Matric certificate or mark sheet handy for checking your name and date of birth.
✓
Collect the Class 12, Graduation and Post-Graduation records that apply to your chosen level.
✓
Add the relevant teacher-training proof, such as D.El.Ed, B.El.Ed, B.Ed or an accepted integrated course.
✓
Keep your applicable CTET, BTET or STET record ready. STET-2026 candidates should also check the latest declaration rule.
✓
If claiming reservation, use a valid category, EWS, PwBD or residence certificate in the format required by Bihar.
✓
Prepare a recent photograph, signature, identity details and any service record needed for a claim or weightage.

Check the profile: Review your name, address, education and professional training before opening the advertisement form.
4
Add the required files: Upload the photograph, signature and certificates in the size and format shown on the live portal.
5
Choose Advertisement No. 14/2026: Select only the class level and subject supported by your qualifications.

7
Pay after checking the schedule: Use the fee amount and deadline printed in the revised notice, not the superseded dates.
8
Read the preview once: Check the category, subject, qualification and uploaded certificates before final submission.
